The Code

The Code

These are the basic rules which govern the Pack and its functioning. Breaking any one of the following rules can result in punishments ranging from unpleasant tasks to being stripped of their ranking to exile.

The Pack has a saying:

One for all

All for one

The strength of the Pack is the key to survival

The rules the Pack must obey are as follows:

  1. Loyalty to the Pack is required above all else. It is fine to have friendships, and relationships, with Wolves outside of the Pack, but a Wolves loyalty must remain within the Pack at all times in case of war or strife.

  2. Pups are the future of every Pack. They are to be protected and fed at all times. Pups are forbidden to leave the camp without an adult.

  3. Injured or sick Wolves may eat before other members so that they keep up their strength in order to get better.

  4. The Herbalist must not kill unless necessary for his own survival. They heal all, regardless of Pack loyalty or rank, and are the last to eat.

  5. Prey is only to be killed to eat or to sell. Regardless of its use, give thanks to (ancestor name) for its life.

  6. Fighting with other members of the pack is strictly forbidden in the confines of the camp. If two members must fight, they must do it away from the camp and they must do it alone.

  7. The Council may never enter the Caves seeking to talk to a specific Wolf. They must request the Wolf meet them in the Council’s den. The only den excluded from this is the den that is home to the Queen and King.

  8. Neglecting a pup in pain or danger, even if the pup is from a different Pack, is forbidden.

  9. A pup may not start training until they are # months old. Until this time, they are only permitted to learn The Code, the Packs history and other things from the Storyteller, Wisdom Keepers and other members of the Pack.

  10. Dishonesty is not allowed within the Pack, unless it is by a Mother Wolf who does not wish to reveal the father of her pups or if the truth would hurt the Pack rather than help it.

Process of Law

Process of Law

The laws of the Pack are kept in line by the Council. The King and Queen are essentially the Judges while the Council is the Jury. However, the King and Queen, despite being the Judges, cannot make the decision solely based on what they think is right or wrong. They have to take into account what the Council advises. Punishments can range from mild ones such as an adult rank member being given Apprentice duties to severe ones such as exile or even, in the worst cases, death.
